Vegan Air Fryer: Two Recipes! Air Fried Soy Curls + Air Fried Tofu

In the spirit of full disclosure, I am an Amazon affiliate but i would *NEVER* share anything with you that i didn’t use and love myself! Use my links or go there on your own- i just want to help you find the good stuff!

Oh man you guys! I love air frying things!!! Ever since I got my air fryer I have used it at least weekly- often more than once a week.

I use a GoWise air fryer that’s 5.8 quarts- it was like $70 on Amazon. I picked it based on the book “The Vegan Air Fryer”- she has a bunch of recommendations in there for air fryers and some really great recipes!! That’s the only one I have ever used so I can’t compare it to anything but I love it. I can put a whole pack of tofu in there at once and it works out for me- it would probably be better to do like half a pack at a time but I’m lazy and like things to be done quicker so I sacrifice quality for speed.

Two of my favorite things to make in the air fryer are air fried tofu & air fried soy curls. I love to make a big batch of air fried vegan proteins at the beginning of the week and then I can eat it all week long!! Why use an air fryer?

  1. The outside gets super crispy with no oil
  2. It cooks WAY faster than in the oven
  3. The house doesn’t get hot like it does when you turn the oven on

Things I use in my recipes that may be new to you:

Coconut Aminos: Lower sodium than low sodium tamari but both are delish!

Nutritional Yeast: Can be fortified with B12. Tastes cheesy, nutty, and is delicious!

Jada Chicken Salt: Delicious salty awesomeness! There are a bunch of different flavors but I use the turmeric most often.

Turmeric: Super anti-inflammatory- use with black pepper to increase the bioavailability of the curcumin.

Soy Curls: High protein with just one ingredient: non-GMO soy!

In the video I made I also mentioned the multi-vitamin that I take- it’s Complement Plus from Alpine Organics and it’s formulated for vegans. So if you’re vegan this is a great one that has B12, D, and DHA/EPA.

The air fried soy curl recipe was inspired by the amazing recipe at https://healthyslowcooking.com/vegan-air-fryer-southern-fried-chicken-soy-curls/.

I don’t measure any of the herbs or seasonings I use- I just toss a bunch on and hope for the best. It doesn’t make for the most consistent recipes but usually turns out pretty great!
