I love keeping things simple in the kitchen and this is one of my favorite combos! Throw in some greens and you’re golden! You’ve got a great balance of clean protein, grains, and greens. Sub out the brown rice for wild rice or quinoa or even black beans if you want! mix it up to make it tasty for Y-O-U!

 

Ingredients:

1 8oz Package of Tempeh

1 t oregano

1 t thyme

1 t basil

1/2 C Cooke Brown Rice

1 C Steamed Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, or other greens

  1. Slice tempeh into 1” strips.
  2. Steam the tempeh for 20 minutes
  3. Heat a dry frying pan over medium heat
  4. Place the tempeh into the frying pan and dry brown it, about 5 minutes or until the underside starts looking crispy
  5. Flip the tempeh over and add 1T water and then sprinkle the herbs on the tempeh.
  6. Heat about 5 minutes or until the underside starts looking crispy
  7. Serve over a bed of brown rice and/or greens
